Ukrainian forces successfully repelled a large-scale attack by Russian troops near the village of Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia region.
According to the 17th Army Corps of Ukraine, the enemy advance occurred in multiple waves and involved the use of around 26 military vehicles, including tanks and armored personnel carriers, supported by the 71st Motorized Rifle Regiment.
The confrontation began on the afternoon of October 20 and targeted the positions of the 118th Separate Mechanized Brigade of Ukraine. In the early hours of the battle, Ukrainian troops managed to destroy or damage several Russian vehicles, including tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, and Tigr armored cars. Part of the invading forces retreated after suffering heavy losses.
According to the brigade, the defense relied on coordinated use of artillery, FPV drones, and pre-positioned landmines, which helped halt the advance. Ukrainian forces stated that the situation in the region is under control, with no positions lost, and that they continue to reinforce defensive lines while inflicting further losses on the enemy.
